| 1. |
Our objective
is to optimise Economic benefits
through minimizing the environmental
and social footprints and impact
from our tours and excursions. |
| 2. |
We remain sensitive to the
sustenance and conservation
of Oman’s natural assets,
its social and cultural heritage.
Our excursions are designed
accordingly. |
| 3. |
We strive to provide our tourist
guests with “real life”
and meaningful connections with
local people in various parts
of Oman, leading to a better
understanding of the country’s
cultural, social and environmental
challenges and issues. |
| 4. |
Wherever we have to outsource
ground services we only work
with local suppliers and only
use Omani guides & drivers. |
| 5. |
Our guests are actively encouraged
to use local restaurants and
establishments. Our tours include
regular stops at locally owned
cafés and restaurants
helping local employment generation
and tourism revenues. Many of
our excursions incorporate elements
requiring the clients to stay
in desert camps, visit a local
Bedouin or Omani family etc. |
| 6. |
We also suggest to our guests
about making some souvenir purchases
of locally made products direct
from the local people in the
various souks. |
| 7. |
We offer guests the option
to donate to the Ras al-Jinz
Scientific & Visitors Centre
in Oman. Ras al–Jinz houses
one of the largest nesting areas
for Green Turtles in the Indian
Ocean. The Ras al-Jinz Sea Turtle
and Nature Reserve and the Ras
al-Hadd National Scenic Reserve
were combined to better protect
Oman’s turtles and their
natural environment. The total
area now protected is 120kms,
with 45kms of coastline, extending
for 1km into the sea. |
